Description
In Word and Work: An Intersection, Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, President Dr. Dale A. Meyer explores the topic of confirmation with Dr. Peter Nafzger, assistant professor of Practical Theology and director of Student Life at the Seminary. The two men discuss the alarming number of children who stop attending church after confirmation. Nafzger explains how his former congregation created a new confirmation process to try and deepen the ties of children to their faith. “Confirmation should serve the holistic formation of the Christian and bring them into the Christian life as it’s manifested in the church,” he says. “We can do it and we’ve got to.” In the audio version, also hear a recent chapel sermon from Nafzger.
