Abstract
The primary purpose of .this thesis will not; be to determine the correct interpretation of this entire phrase, but to determine what the hearers of John understood when he announced “He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” A secondary purpose of this thesis will be to arrive at a clearer understanding of the concept; of the Holy Spirit.
