Description
In this 21st episode of “Mission Works: Thanks to Donors,” Concordia Seminary President Emeritus Dr. Dale A. Meyer, the program’s host, hears an update on Call Day 2021 from Dr. Glenn Nielsen, director of Placement and director of Vicarage and Deaconess Internships. Call Day is set for April 28 and can be viewed via live stream at www.csl.edu/callday. The two men talk about the number of students who will receive their vicarages, deaconess internships and first calls to pastoral or diaconal ministry this year. They also discuss the 20 congregations who will not receive a pastor this year because there are not enough pastoral candidates to meet the need. “The moral of the story is, let’s encourage recruitment for ministry,” Meyer says. “It is not good without a pastor in a congregation. … The flock needs a shepherd.” Mission Works is a weekly vlog that celebrates the significant role of Seminary supporters and highlights how donor gifts are making a difference in the Lord’s mission.
