This plenary will look at the council from three perspectives and a postudium. First of all a brief look at the kind of historical conditions that caused a nexus of crises needing this conciliar meeting. Secondly the intent and scope of the typos or statement of faith that was decided on and whether it met that set of crises wholly or in part. Thirdly its attempt to standardize specific Christian canonical legislation. Lastly to what extent this epoch-defining meeting did establish, or can re-establish, patterns of internationally agreed commonality of Christian faith.
