Abstract
The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod owned and operated eleven preparatory schools in 1969. The purpose of these schools was to provide the initial training for men planning to enter the ministry of the Lutheran Church. The educational program of the preparatory schools of the Missouri Synod has undergone several significant changes in curriculum, role and purpose during the previous one hundred years. This study has sought to determine the influence that theology has had upon these changes.
