Abstract

My purpose is altogether different, namely, to go through the entire history of God’s chosen people of the Old Covenant as far as it is recorded in the Biblical books, to find out what is told us about the office of a prophet in Israel, and to describe the essence of the office, the man who filled it, and the manner in which he carried out the duties imposed upon him.
