Abstract
This paper is an exegetical study of the eight passages in this Epistle which have a. reference to the blood, suffering, or sacrifice of Christ. The purpose of this thesis is to arrive at an understanding of the meaning and significance of the work of Christ according to Peter’s First Epistle. In chapters two, three, and four the writer will examine particularly those passages which state the doctrinal viewpoint of Peter concerning the suffering and death of Christ. In the remaining three chapters the writer will endeavor to determine the significance that the Apostle places upon the passion of Christ; in his exhortations and encouragements to the Christians in Asia Minor.
