Description
This video originated as a breakout presentation to the 2020 LCMS Florida–Georgia District President’s Equip Conference, “One Body – Many Parts.”
In the wake of the events surrounding the death of George Floyd and others, including a public statement by the Black Caucus of the LCMS and related conversations on the sin of racism, a great interest in the place of ethnic-racial diversity in the church and her institutions has resurfaced. But how do Christians talk about diversity? In this presentation, Leo Sánchez argues that the church can best approach the issue by talking about the church's unity in a catholic way. In this short theological reflection, Dr. Sánchez discusses some practical implications of catholicity for the way we think about the church--her unity, mission, and life together.
