The thesis will seek to uncover an answer to precisely this question: What developments in atonement theology are evident in the thinking of emergent church leaders Brian McLaren, Steven Chalke and Tony Jones, and what implications do they carry for emergent ecclesiastical bodies and the larger Christian church as a whole?
