Abstract
This thesis examines such claims and provides a detailed investigation of 1 Cor 7:1-24 by using Aristotelian rhetorical theory. The ensuing chapters will show how Paul uses various rhetorical techniques and arguments to persuade the Corinthian community to avoid sexual asceticism and sexual immorality.
