Abstract
The primary purpose of this study is to determine the use of yap in the New Testament. It entails three specific tasks: a scrutiny of the validity or necessity of some of the usages of yap proposed in the past, identification of the major considerations in determining the use of yap, and a comprehensive analysis of all the occurrences of yap in the New Testament.
