Abstract

Originally this study had been intended to take the form of a training course for lay evangelism. Upon further consideration and research it became evident that this would be putting both pastor and people into a rigid pattern that would not fit in all cases. The work of the church differs from place to place, and the way in which the church’s mission can be carried out will not always be the same. Therefore, this study will consider material pertinent to the forming of principles upon which the work is to be done and by which workers are to be trained and selected. The actual method of carrying out the program in the local church will not enter into the discussion since this will be adapted to fit the needs of each community and the organization of each perish.
