Abstract

Biblical scholars hold various views as to the meaning and the scope of the term, "the angel of Yahweh," in the Old Testament. In recent years, however, this subject does not seem to have attracted much attention and, as far as the writer knows, no recent study of the subject has been made in our own circles. This paper attempts to present a study of the views of Biblical interpreters concerning, “the angel of Yahweh," and related terms in the Old Testament and to reach some conclusions on the basis of what Scripture itself reveal.
