Abstract
I shall try to defend the view that the basic tenets of the Pharisees at the time of Christ, nationalism and legalism, are able to be traced through all the preceding generations as far back as the time of Ezra. The other material presented in "this paper is to serve the purpose of throwing this idea into bolder relief.
