Abstract
"There is scarcely in the whole New Testament any greater difficulty than the ascertaining of the various meanings of νο̍μος in the Epistles of St. Paul,” wrote a renowned British scholar of a century ago. Was he overstating the matter when he wrote those words, or are there facts to confirm his judgment?
