Abstract

A brief survey of the critical methods employed by interpreters of the book of Ecclesiastes from the time of the compilers of the Midrashim down to the present day reveals that theological orientation and intellectual disciplines have largely determined the evaluation and interpretation of the book either in its parts or as a whole.
