Abstract

It was not the purpose of this study to deal with the liturgical aspects of the rite of confirmation itself but rather with the preparation and instruction that precedes confirmation. Generally, the confirmation instruction spoken of will be that practiced in the Lutheran Church, most often th.at practiced in the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. However, much of the material was drawn and applies also to confirmation instruction in other church bodies and to similar practices in the non-liturgical churches.
