Abstract
Dispensationalism - and premillennialism, chiliasm in general- is charged with disparaging the Gospel See Concordia Theological Monthly, 1935, p. 481 ff.) In an article entitled "Modem Dispensationalism and the Doctrine of the Unity of Scripture," published in the Evangelica1 Quarterly January, 1936, pp. 24-35, Dr. Oswald T. Allis, at that time professor of Hebrew in Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, makes the same charge. And the answer to this article, entitled " Dispensationalism," by Dr. L S. Chafer, president of Dallas Theological Seminary, which appeared in the October-December, 1936, issue of Bibliotheca Sacra, pp. 390---449, does not invalidate the charge, but substantiates it.
