Abstract
Pastoral counseling is currently receiving much greater emphasis in the seminary curriculum than was the case a decade or two ago. This does not mean that effective pastoral counseling has been carried on only recently. Throughout the ages the "cure," or care, of souls has been a matter of vital concern to the Church and its pastors.
