Description

The largest and fastest-growing Lutheran churches in the world are found in Africa. Some Western scholars describe the history of these churches as a missionary creation. In the past few years, however, African Lutherans have been arguing against this sentiment and emphasizing the role of indigenous missionaries in spreading Christianity throughout Africa. This presentation will focus on Tthe role of African indigenous missionaries in the history and formation of the Lutheran confessions in Africa and their contribution to the global conversation on Lutheranism.
