To determine the meaning of the Epiphany Season, I undertook a study of the seasons history, propers, and customs. A study of the history of the season was necessary to understand the factors that produced the present meaning of the season. A. study of the propers of the season was necessary to reveal what the season actually means in the present life of the Church. A study of' the customs of the season was necessary to determine how the Season’s meaning is reflected and augmented by the piety of the people.
